OFSC Trail status mistake Feb 19, 2019

Posted on

You may have noticed all the red trails this morning. If the OFSC doesn’t receive trail updates on Mon or Thurs they automatically turn them red. Due to the stat holiday we missed updating them, because we took a day off to spend with family 🤭
All clubs in the district are reporting to the district to get things updated ASAP. Keep a look out for the changes. The only CLOSED TRAIL WE HAVE IS NB 302
Thanks for your patience

A102Q update

Posted on

We’ve been made aware that logging trucks are continuing to be present on the A102Q trail. There will be a continued presence until mid Feb.
Our portion of the A102Q has been groomed however the portion beyond the River is in poor riding condition as the Temiskaming Club has been without groomers due to repairs & unable to groom their portion of trail. Please ride with caution until they are able to resume grooming.

Posted on

We want to give a Huge Thank You to District 4, Dufferin Drift Busters Snowmobile Club & the OFSC who have lent District 11 & the North Bay Snowmobilers Club a 2011 Husky to utilize for remainder of the season.

With this extra help we are able to keep our trails in top-notch condition for everyone’s riding pleasure.

We’ve been receiving a lot of sledders already this season & are happy to have them ride NBSC & District 11 trails this groomer is a great added asset this season!

We even managed to get District 4 & some Orangeville Snowmobile Club members out for a ride on the trails. We were able to get some pictures of them with their Husky, unfortunately

Steve McCarthy the President of the Dufferin Drift Busters was unable to make the trip but without him this might not of happened.

Thanks to everyone who made this possible!

From the pictures it looked liked they had fun, even in the cold weather!

Jan 19th-27th is Snowmobile Safety Week

Posted on

This week is Snowmobile Safety Week in Ontario and local Snowmobile Clubs are urging all sledders to do their part to maintain safety on and off the trails.

Obey Limits and Laws on the Trails

Do Not Ride Beyond Your Ability

Stay on the Trail

Never Ride Intoxicated

In addition:

Know your route

Know your sled

Don’t go alone

Always carry a fully charged phone

Dress appropriately, and,

Take a snowmobile safety course

The OPP are also reminding riders to avoid the use of loud exhaust pipes and not to trespass on private property – these two issues are illegal and are causing us to lose access to trails across our region.

The snowmobile season is off to an amazing start – in fact, the best in several years. We want to keep it that way. Please help us to get the message out that safety is first and foremost.
